I’m Still Here

Just looking and saw that I haven’t posted anything in a long time, no excuse. Got to get back into doing this on a regular basis.

Changes:
I am in the process of changing companies that I work for, the old one seems to have lost its way and no longer was making me any money. Its one thing for things to be tight in this economy but I had gotten to the point of paying them to drive their truck and deliver their freight. Just doesn’t make sense to continue. Starting with a new company this week and will be pulling tankers. Should be a new adventure.

Still losing the weight, lighter and healthier than I’ve been in a long time. Trying to walk and exercise as much as possible and watching the diet. Its hard to stay motivated but the progress helps. I have gone from a BMI of 42 to one of 33 on my last DOT physical. Still have a ways to go but we are getting there.

Enough for now, going to make the effort to get back into blogging.

Obamacare Helps Out with Sleep Disorders

In an effort to reduce the cost to all Americans, President Obama took it upon himself to help out in the area of sleep disorders. Problem sleeping then just attend an Obama town-hall meeting and ask a simple question about taxes. Dr. Obama gave out a massive dose of boredom to a crowd in Charlotte Friday, taking 17 minutes and 2500 words to explain to an audience member why she was wrong about being overtaxed. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2010/04/obamas-17-minute-2500-word-res.html Dr. Obama’s treatment was apparently quite effective in putting most of the audience into a near coma, thus reducing the cost of sleep aids and the need for surgical anesthetics. It also made people wonder how they would ever get back the lost 17 minutes of their lives that was wasted on Presidential rhetoric.

This is whats wrong with government these days, no-one, especially the President can give a simple straight-forward question. What is it I’ve been told, if you can’t answer a question in a few words and a few seconds then you are either lying or just don’t know what you are talking about. Which is it Mr President? Washington has become over-run by long-winded do-nothings. People who’s only skill is to run their mouths. This problem is rampant on both sides, neither can claim to know what they are doing or seem to really care about anything except the next election.

Politicians need to shut-up and listen to the American people, not just the ones paying for their next election campaign. The best leaders are the ones willing to shut the heck up and listen. You can never find out what the people truly need and want until you shut-up and listen. Governing is not the art of talking the loudest and longest but listening and actually hearing. I see this in the President all of the time, simple questions are answered with lectures if they are answered at all. Politicians need to understand that they are our employees and the bosses require a direct honest answer or these employees will find themselves replaced by people that are willing to do as they are told.

That’s my rant for Easter Morning. Hope everyone is having a nice day and if you are on the roads be safe and give yourself a little extra time and be safe.

Heading East to Boston this weekend. The weather has finally made a turn for the better, at least as far as the temperature is concerned. I’m sure after this last winter Al Gore won’t have so many friends left. I think even the farthest left have figured out the Global Warming deal is a lot of media hysteria drummed up to make a few like Mr Gore rich.
Good Friday is here and Spring along with it. I’m working this weekend so I can have time off later in the month. I managed to get on a nice long run that let’s me take it easy and enjoy the weekend. Truckstops will be pretty empty and hopefully traffic won’t be too bad.
For all that are off this weekend, have a great Easter holiday. For those out here working, be safe and watch out for the other guy.

Trapped in Yuma

Here I sit, typical trucking, spend hours sitting and waiting on shippers then have to run like crazy to make it to your next stop. This time I am sitting in warm Yuma, AZ, I guess that’s a plus. Situations like this are way to common in trucking, this is the main reason that I really doubt the FMCSA will ever be able to come up with real and safe log rules. Until shipper and Receivers start getting their act together and honor the same appointments they hold us too then nothing will ever change.
The news on radio this morning is all about snow in DC. Where’s that global warming they keep promising???

Spill Some Tea

The Tea Party Express rolled into the Nations Capital today in an attempt to wake-up the Nations Lawmakers. Will it work? Will the Politicians pull their heads out of the sand and listen to the majority of Americans or will they continue to bow-down to the special interest running the Democratic Party.

Today’s protest brought the voice of Americans concerned about the path this Nation is being lead down by President Obama and his ilk. A path that leads us to bigger, more oppressive government, the end of States Rights, higher taxes and fewer freedoms. Its time that some tea is spilled and we call a stop to this headlong rush to socialism. Just as our fore-fathers stood up against un-fair and oppressive taxes imposed by the British King, we must now spill some tea to save our freedom.

These people who have taken to the streets of D.C. are obviously not a “Fringe” or a “Gang” like the left wants to label them, these are Americans, worried about the future of the Country. Only the most foolish of Politicians should make the mistake of ignoring the true voice of America. These people not only protest, “WE VOTE!!!”

Americans have had enough! We are over-taxed, over-regulated and fed-up with lies from Obama and the Libs. The citizens are finally rising up to take back our Nation from those that would tear it down and re-make it for themselves. It makes me proud to be an American!!!

Many have noticed that my site has been down a few days. Apparently one of these little left-wing twerps out there doesn’t like freedom of speech and attacked my site.
Typical of that group, a bunch of cowards that want to gag those that don’t agree with them. Of course what can you expect when the White House wants to do the same thing by taking over the internet and gathering names of dissenters.

Rainy and Cold….Again!

I guess this must be that global warming thing-a-jig I keep hearing about. Lots of rain and down-right chilly weather in July. I like the fact that Nashville, the home of the High Priest of the Church of Global Warming, Al Gore, has had record low temps over the last week or so.
I’m thinking of going back to idling so I can crank out some CO2 to get the temps up to normal levels. Of course the followers of Grand Pubah Gore call the whole thing “Climate Change” now since all of their theories and plots to remake the World in their own twisted image are falling apart.
The sun seems to have gone on vacation, no sunspots, lowered output of heat and actually a little dimmer than normal. This is most likely the cause of the decline in temps, just as the overactive periods we have just come out of caused the higher than average temps. Right now scientist are wondering how long before the sun kicks in again, its past due.
I’m starting to miss Summer. I know the South and West are hot of course but it should also be hot in PA and NY.
