The Senate, in a brief moment of sanity, killed the Comprehensive Immigration Bill and what gets me the politicians like Harry Reid don’t understand why it died. Maybe if the Senators and Representatives would quit telling the American people what they are supposed to think and listen to what the people really feel then maybe Harry would catch a clue. Americans are sick of hearing about these schemes to legalize illegal immigrants, Z visas, and guest worker programs, we want Congress to do one simple thing. Control the Border…. Once the borders, North and South are secure then we can start talking about what to do with the folks already here. When I hear “Comprehensive” come attached to a law then I know it will be nothing but red-tape and bureaucracy, something we need less of in Washington. Just enforce the laws we already have, fine companies for hiring illegals, quit harboring illegals in our cities and send them back to their own country when you do catch them!
Borders first, then when government can prove they have control over who comes into this country, then we can decide who we let in and be sure they will have a job when they get here. This under-the-table form of slavery we have now needs to stop. The Hispanics fought long and hard in the 60′s and 70′s led by Cesar Chavez, for better wages and conditions. Now this new batch of illegals have undermined the sacrifices and battles those people fought for. Control the borders for the benefit of all.
Gotta quit reading those history books, seems we keep making the same mistakes!
