I’m still here! Its been a hectic Week and I have not had a chance to get caught up on the Blog. I’m in MA today heading to Florence, KY for Thursday with a load of Chocolate. After leaving the yard the other day I ran up to Chicago with a load. I then had to drop my empty trailer at a dealership then run down to Lafayette, IN to pick up a new one at the Wabash factory. Loaded that trailer with pork and took it to Long Island and Philadelphia. Re-loaded yesterday with a load that delivered this morning up here. Now I’m heading back to Kentucky.

It seems most of the talk in Washington this week has been over what to do about Illegal Aliens. I keep hearing all these plans to create a guest worker program but have heard little about how to secure the border. If we cannot stop the flood of Mexicans across the border then any kind of program for the ones already here is a waste of time. We will have the same thing we had when Reagan gave amnesty to the illegals in the eighties. There should not be any discussion about what to do with these people until you stop the mad rush of foreigners across the border. The only plans that Congress comes up with is to use sensors and UAV’s to watch the border. All this will do is gives us a way to better count the number of people crossing the border. As far as I know an infrared sensor never captured anyone and unless you want to launch Hell-Fire missiles at the illegals, the UAV’s can do little to slow the flood. We need to put up a physical barrier or we will need ten times as many Border Patrol agents than we have now. Once the borders are secure and the flood of illegals is stopped then we can deal fairly with the illegals already here. Lets not put the cart before the horse again and just make it more inviting to break the law and come here illegally.
