What Happens if You Throw a Civil War and Nobody Shows?

It seems the only Civil War in Iraq is in the left-wing newspapers. After preaching a total breakdown of authority in Iraq for the last four days, Peace seems to be breaking out. I’m sure the Bush haters are just banging their heads over the fact that Iraq hasn’t turned into the disaster they keep trying to make it into. Sunni and Shiite clerics are actually talking to each other and telling their flocks to remain calm and to work together to solve their differences peacefully. The freely elected Iraqi government has taken step to let the situation cool down by declaring a daylight curfew. This has given time for the clerics to settle things down. There has been some violence and deaths but it falls short of the “Civil War” the press is trying to make it out to be. Maybe this will be the tipping point that allows us to start bringing our troops home. Although with the games that Iran keeps playing, I’m afraid we may need to keep troops there for a long time.

On another note Don Knotts passed away today. He will be missed, I always enjoyed his work. How many actually remember “The Incredible Mr. Limpet“?

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, I spent most of the day running errands here at home. Stay safe and check out these fine blogs:

Careful………You might be eating these words. I wonder if you have what it takes to admit you are wrong if things don’t go as swimmingly as you purport.

I take my words lighty sauted in butter please. I really doubt I’ll be eating any soon. The press seems to be the only ones wanting civil war to make Bush look bad. Even ABC admits today that things are quiet in Iraq.
