Friday at Home

I finally made it back to the house Wednesday and plan to spend the weekend home. I have been out about a whole month and am really glad to be home. If you saw the last couple of post then you know I updated to the newest version of WordPress the other night and I’m still working out some of the bugs. I’m not really having a problem with WordPress itself but some of the plug-ins that I have been using don’t seem to want to play well with the new version. I think I have a handle on what works and what doesn’t so things should settle down soon. Hopefully the authors of some of these plug-ins will get their updates done soon.

I actually got in some R/C flying yesterday and plan to try to make it back out to our flying field today. Need to take advantage of this nice weather while it last. Its supposed to turn off cold over the weekend here.

Just a couple of comments on the State of the Union Address the other night. I know that everyone else has dissected and analyzed the speech to death by now so I’ll keep it short. It was a good solid speech fro m the President. I particularly liked the idea of reducing our dependence on Mid-East oil. Although I saw the Energy Secretary backed off of this plan the next day, I really hope the administration takes this plan seriously. We need to change where we are headed as far as energy. We have a lot of smart creative people in this country and there is no reason we should be slaves to a bunch of Mid-East nut jobs for energy. Nothing would make me happier than seeing these American hating Arabs returned to riding camels instead of BMWs. We have the ability, we just need the drive and commitment to get the job done. I would love to see all of the big trucks in the country running on 100% American produced bio-deisel and tell the Iranians where they can stuff their damn oil. Starting sound like Willey Nelson, ha!

Hope everyone is doing great, I’m going to try to get some serious goofing off for the weekend. Stay safe.
