The Houston Chronicle is reporting that I-10 east of New Orleans is down. “We know that the I-10 twin span has blown over, is no longer with us,” said Mark Smith, spokesman for the Louisiana Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. This cuts a major lifeline for the city of New Orleans and the eastern suburbs. This only makes it more difficult to get help into the area.
