Hurricane Katrina has become a category 5 hurricane overnight. It is expected to hit New Orleans early Monday morning. It looks like New Orleans will take a direct strike from this deadly hurricane.
The storm is expected to spread hurricane force winds far inland, so people far from the coast will be effected. If you are traveling in the area of southern Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama you need to pay attention and consider alternate routes.
I see from the JB Hunt website that the have suspended operations in the area expected to be effected by the storm. It might be prudent for others to do the same. Already traffic into the city of New Orleans has been closed off only allowing outbound traffic.
